Bursaries for 2027 can support university, university-of-technology, TVET, postgraduate and selected school studies. Each programme sets its own academic, financial, citizenship, location and service-obligation rules.
Who can apply?
Common requirements include South African citizenship or qualifying residence, Matric completion or current Matric enrolment, admission or intended admission to a recognised institution, a suitable academic record and demonstrated financial need.
What can a bursary cover?
Full awards may cover tuition, registration, books, accommodation, meals, transport, devices and allowances. Partial awards may cover only selected costs or a fixed amount.
How to improve a 2027 application
- Apply early and keep a deadline calendar.
- Prepare certified identity and academic documents.
- Use a bursary-specific motivational letter.
- Check for work-back obligations.
- Keep proof of submission.
