Status Checker Data
When you submit the homepage status checker, the website receives the ID number and mobile number you entered and immediately uses them to request a status from the SASSA SRD status service. The application code does not write those form values to a database or file.
The remote status service may process and log the information according to SASSA’s own systems and policies. Your hosting provider, firewall or content-delivery provider may separately process technical metadata such as IP address, timestamps and requested paths.
Rate Limiting
To reduce automated abuse, the checker temporarily stores a one-way hash derived from the visitor’s IP address with recent request timestamps in the server’s temporary directory. It does not store the ID number or phone number in that rate-limit file.
Analytics and Advertising
Do not configure analytics, advertising, session replay, form capture or error-reporting tools to record the ID field, phone field or status result. If you add such services, update this policy and configure appropriate consent and exclusions.
Cookies
The current package does not require an application login or marketing cookie to use the status checker.
