Sources and Update Method

The source hierarchy and update process used for payment dates, grant amounts, SRD rules and status explanations.

Information reviewed 20 September 2026

Primary Sources Used

Our main source categories are SASSA publications and services, Department of Social Development material, South African Government service pages, National Treasury/Budget documents and legislation or regulations.

Current 2026 References

Key current references include the 2026 Budget Speech, the DSD 2026/27 social-grant payment schedule and increases, the official SRD service, and government grant-service pages.

Conflicting Figures

If official publications differ, we prefer the most specific and current source and explain material differences where they affect a user decision. For example, Foster Child 2026 figures have appeared differently in some budget documents, so this site follows the DSD schedule statement and Budget Speech timing.

No External Links Requirement

The site can describe source names without requiring visitors to leave the domain. This does not change the fact that SASSA and government remain the authority for official decisions.

Why show a review date?

It helps visitors distinguish current guidance from old grant information.

Are competitor sites treated as primary sources?
