Common SASSA Status Results

Application Complete

The application or reapplication information has been submitted and can move through monthly verification.

Bank Details Pending

Payment or banking information still requires attention before payment can be processed.

Pending

Verification for that period has not yet been completed.

Approved

The application was approved for the period. Check the pay-day field when available.

Declined

The application was declined for the period and a reason should be shown.

Cancelled

The grant has been cancelled. The appropriate reinstatement process may be needed if eligible.

Approved but No Payment Date

An approved result does not always immediately include a pay day. If no pay-day value is shown, payment may not yet have been processed for that period.

Why Does Status Change by Month?

SRD is assessed by period. Verification can therefore produce different outcomes across different months, depending on the information available for each period.

Decline Reasons

Decline reasons can relate to identity verification, income or alternative-income checks, other benefit databases or programme eligibility. Read the exact reason returned with your status before deciding what action to take.

Referred or Verification Issues

Some results may require further verification. Follow only the legitimate instructions provided through recognised SASSA communication channels and never share a bank PIN or OTP with anyone.
