Why the Registered Number Matters
The SRD process uses the mobile number for feedback and verification. Losing access can prevent OTPs, status messages and account changes.
Secure a Lost or Stolen SIM
Contact the mobile network promptly when a SIM is lost or stolen. This helps reduce SIM-swap and OTP risks.
Update the SRD Record
Use the current SASSA number-update process. If remote verification cannot be completed because the old number is unavailable, contact SASSA for the currently supported recovery route.
Never Buy an OTP
Do not pay someone who claims they can receive or bypass the OTP for you.
