Preserve Evidence

Keep screenshots, phone numbers, message dates, transaction references and other evidence. Do not delete everything before reporting.

Secure the Phone and Bank

If a SIM swap or bank compromise may be involved, contact the mobile network and bank immediately to protect the account.

Contact SASSA

Use the current SASSA toll-free contact to report suspected misuse of a grant record. Serious identity theft or financial crime may also need to be reported to law enforcement.

Change Exposed Credentials

If a password was exposed, change it directly with the affected service. Never disclose a new OTP to the same person who contacted you.
