Who It Is For
The Disability Grant is for qualifying people aged 18 to 59 whose physical or mental disability makes them unfit for work for the required period and who meet the means test and other rules.
Temporary and Longer-Term Disability
Government guidance distinguishes a temporary disability grant for a continuous disability of at least six months and up to 12 months, and a longer-term grant where the disability is expected to continue for more than a year.
